Koi I
Koi Series draws on the movement of water, the ornamental presence of living form, and the quiet intensity of observation. Inspired in part by Japanese visual culture as well as the tropical landscapes of South Florida, the works translate koi into rhythms of color, reflection, and fluid abstraction. The series is less about depiction than about the tension between stillness and motion, surface and depth.
Koi I introduces this world through a more immediate engagement with movement, contour, and reflection. The works retain a sense of observation while already shifting toward abstraction, where living forms become signs of motion and visual pulse.
